Quite probably but the downside was that the next day we got the opposite effect- condensed milk and tinned tomatoes!

My first car purchased for £40 in Australia after I got my license in January 1964 was a Morris 8. Needless to say it was with me for many adventures and thousands of miles. Maximum speed was when you heard the side valves start to float :-) then you backed off a tad. According to the speedo it was about 65 mph.

The post war versions of these cars were apparently built in Australia on imported chassis and engines.

The car I always wanted then was the Roadster version. I used to often see a white one on the roads in Sydney. If I recall it was like a cross between my car and the MG TC.
