For a while now I have been contemplating various solutions to fitting Spot Lights to my car fitted with Over Riders but without the seemingly inevitable drilling of visible components (wings, number plate boxes etc.)

Well I would like to share my solution (and as there is no National Mog this year I cannot enter into the Innovations Award innocent)

Basically I elected to 'drop' the over riders by approx. 50mm by drilling another hole (I know, but you cannot see it), still with plenty of ground clearance and making a new bracket that would carry the Spot Light and lowered Over Rider (Cibie Tango's in my case - a bargain on eBay!).

I am very pleased with the finished job. A 'supplier' of shiny accessories for Morgans was also impressed when I offered the idea to him but it seems he has many 'Wing Brackets' that are on the shelf so I had a local 'shop' make them from steel and painted before we decide to go it with Stainless Steel.

A very neat fix, the lowered over riders ( under riders?) don't look out of place especially as your no. plate box is lower also. I am a great fan of Cibies and a set is on my Roadster wish list thumbs

Must look up the Tangos.
My original drive lamps are starting to look rather tired, though I might get the reflectors resilvered and keep the originals on the shelf.

Neat fitting BTW Keith. My originals go through the wing front. And the power lead (now goes via a relay - my upgrade!) is taken from the dip switch side of the multiway connector, rather than the loom side. Silly B's. So, as I'm having to replace the switch, I will be rewiring to the loom... Lights activated on main beam, via an accesory switch to a relay.

Cheers,

Fitted tangos on the car this year, they work on full beam. Really does turn night-into-day, so such so that when the headlights are dipped everything goes dark. I had to upgrade the headlight bulbs with Osram Nightbreakers. I now have these bulbs fitted to the Morgan headlights and spots plus my tin top.

Nice work Keith. thumbs

There is a possibility that the MOG Concours will take place in or around July next year. I'll know more after the next NCM, because we should have more events on the calendar.

The Autosolo at Gaydon remains a shortlisted option, even though this is a tiny event compared to a traditional MOG event. The thing is that the MOG Concours trophies are to be awarded annually, so I have to come up with something. I'm not aware of an Autosolo date yet, but if anybody out there knows the date - please let me know.

Keith - you might consider running the Innovations comp at the same venue if this happens........ somestick

An Excellent Job Keith thumbs . Worth the perseverance to get them made.
They look great with the lower over-riders and plate box shades .
How are yours wired in BTW?

This year it was only announced about 3 months before it took place. I'd like to know too - trying to plan my year early, which just ain't going to happen. I will send you a PM re: another issue...

Might make sense to do something at Silverstone Classic, I am likely to be there.(But if I organise it I can't win it again :-)!!)

Gaydon was not that well attended I felt.
