Hi all, I'm a new Morgan owner have just bought my 145hp Duratec Plus Four that came with 195/60 tyres which to me are not the right choice. I'm looking to go up in profile and down to 165 for better steering feel and the right period look Vredestein t-trac 2 165/80r15 look ideal to me. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/kqYW6GQ/Vredestein-ttrac-2-165-80r15-jpeg.jpg) Is anyone on running this tyre on their Plus 4?

Good plan on the move to 165/80. IMO trad Morgans aren't suited to lower profile tyres and on a 145bhp +4 you really don't need the extra footprint, if anything it makes them feel a bit heavier and less agile. On the more powerful cars of course it's a different matter, but my 165bhp 4/4 loves being on 165 tyres, I've never had the slightest problem with lack of grip.
I use the Vredestein Sprint Classics which I think are excellent, but I know there are plenty of owners out there running around on T-Tracs and are very happy with them. I believe that the rubber compounds used are the same, but with a more modern tread profile I imagine that things like wet weather performance might be a bit better with the T-Tracs.

Excellent Hamwich, good to know I'm on the right.... T-Trac Be aware that this will make your speedo read 5% low. i.e at a reading of 60 mph you will actually be doing 63mph, which is not the way to be if you wish to avoid points on your licence. You will need to recalibrate the speedo to get it maybe 3% or so the other way. Unless of course, your speedo currently reads on the fairly high side anyway, which would not be unusual!

Hi Tom3W,
Can you confirm if these tyres are compatible with tubes?
Dave.

My experience:
1. TT2 was a fantatic improvement for my 4/4 (on dry roads but also an wet roads).
2. No problem with tubes in my TT2. My dealer inquired whether the TT2s are approved for tubes before the tyre fitting.

I think I might switch to T-Tracs for my next set. They are around half the price of Sprint Classics.

I would give it a try, Tim. I have almost finished my second set of TT2 and will take them again. Very good suspension and lateral control for such a narrow and high tire. And because it has such good grip is with the TT2 the cornering behavior also wonderfully fine to tune. Rear 1.9 bar and front 1.8 bar makes a significant difference to avoid understeer. I do not know the Vredestein classic personally but the TT2 is probably one of the best of its dimension in the wet and in the dry too. A side effect, the tire is very quiet.
