Hello,
does anybody know if it is possible to exchange these switches with the recent ones? The switches consists of the pushbutton itself and the electrical switch on the panel. My intention is only to exchange the pushbutton (visible part). Has somebody done this before?

Keep mogging,
Christian

I looked into this; with the aim of replacing the switches you show with toggle switches.
The local dealer was not at all keen to attempt it, as apparently there is an electronic control box which effects the dashboard instruments and switch gear.
If you do find the answer, I would be interested.

I have looked into this for some time. The concern is the way they are wired very finely into the 'circuit board' on the reverse of the dashboard. I did look at the switches and wondered if it was possible to use the existing bottom (wired) section and replace the top parts (the actual switch face) as the part that is attached to the plate 'simply' clip off the bottom half of the switch. The new ones appear to look the same. I discovered this by accident when looking at this issue and came in VERY handy when the hazard light switch failed to work and a spray of switch cleaner solved the problem.

I know that 'Simmonds' had looked into this as well but were having problem sourcing the factory ones.

I was considering trying these as well from Car Building Solutions Billing Switches but they do not have back illumination.

Any other suggestions anyone?

I looked on the manufacturer's website (forgot their name) and they list the "bottom" and the "top" seperatly. So you can mix up your own ones. But the Morgan Design seems to be customize or non standard in toher words. From your answer regarding Simmonds I follow that the "tops" are compatibel. It would be interesting to know if the dealers have the tops in stock.

Hello,
some of you may not know this.
This push button switches are made by www.eao.com and they are from their 61 series.
EAO switches and Morgan

The imprinting seems to be Morgan specific.

I like the pushbutton switches on my 2005 4/4 as they are! To my taste, going back to toggle switches, while "retro" is perhaps too much "pastiche". A bit like swapping the modern stalk controls for metal ones that have less function, at great cost.

I realise other tastes vary!

Hello,
the replacement was done today. The new switches are from the same 71 EAO series like the old one. So an replacement is quite easy to do. Only a fan logo is not available. I use a snowflake from the airconditioning rigth now. But I have a blind pattern and maybe a fan symbol could be engraved.

Keep mogging,

Christian

On special request: The switches illuminated are illuminated without headlights on like the original ones.
