As some of you may be aware, until reciently I was the owner of a Aero8... until it was written-off in an accident.

Anyhow...now the dust has settled....After some decission making back at the ranch... we've decided to go sprinting.

It just so happens we also had a line on a suitable car.. a 50k mile 85 4/4 1600 Carb CVH.

Yesterday we drove all the way up to Lifes Motors to check it out.. (very nice chap there) after a lift(underbody& chassis), Internal & external inspection a test drive was completed and after some haggling we're the proud owners of a rugged but strong/functional 4/4.

More Pics here

We'll be spending the next 4 months or so preparing it for Sprinting in the speed championship where Ms Cereal, Dad and myself will initially compete (although not all at the same time..lol)

I'll still be looking out for an Aero... just not a GTN wink

A foot in both camps it seems.

Looks like a beauty Andrew.

Can't wait to hear what you'll be doing to it in preparation for its new career as a Sprinter! thumbs

Or the Honda S 2000 engine like Tom Henderson but maybe a 4/4 with 240 bhp was too powerful for Class 1? smile

Engine has to stay pretty much OEM... the alternative is class 3 "modified 4/4's" and as you say you need to throw a LOT of cash at a car to get it competative in that class.

We'll see how we do with the mods we have planned... mainly adjusting the car to increase longevity & saftey.
