Hello everyone
Can I ask is there a buying guide or can someone give me advice on what to look for when buying a series 1 or 2 Aero8?

Thanks

That reads like a horror story, Cerealsurfer! shocked2 Great effort though.

Just remember Veg, most Morgan owners take great care of their cars unlike other sportcar marques where the owners don't even know how much cylinders their engine has.

It won't be that hard to find a cherished Aero so walk away when in doubt.thumbs

(That rule does not apply to Belgium, where it's very hard to find an aero 8, cherished or not. somestick )

Great job Cereal! thumbs

It is interesting that you have written very little about the engine and drive-train, which just goes to show that the BMW lump in this configuration is very unstressed and is usually incredibly reliable.

Having done the early Series, maybe you can now update it for the Series III and Series IV, as some of the earlier issues have been corrected; power-steering for example, though there have probably been new ones created. frown

Even though My car is of the later series your post was helpful in a few maintanence areas.I am working on a better situation when storing the car in winter to keep the battery fresh.

What can I say but thanks and a superb guide!

I have had 5 TVRs and still have a Griff500 so that list is nothing compared to what I had to put up with when I started running them.

Luckily I know MMC quite well so I will get help there too - have a look what is their parts bin and make an offer!
