Just put a deposit down on this ugly duckling. Must say the 4 seater look has grown on me from not being a fan. Collect start of next month and get my nolden led lights and bits fitted.

For anyone including Sailingtom wanting a bit more info on the 4 Seater model in-between 1999 and 2003, here is a review from 2000.

This was the car that featured in all of MMC's literature for the relaunch of the 4 Seater in 1999 and I'm pleased to say the very car still looks as good as new having seen it and met the owner at the MSCC AGM a couple of years ago (think the owners were in SwanMog)

The car now has a body coloured roll bar installed and was in splendid condition

We also, are a fan of the 4-seater, today preparing our trip to Italy tomorrow, via the Veneto to Tuscany. All the extra space comes in very handy!

Question . Was the 4/4 4 seater discontinued at some point?
The Roadster and Plus 4 restarted in 06 as Stewart identified but what about the 4/4. There were none in 2008 because all there was then was the Sport.

This is my 4/4 4 seater from 1980. As far as I'm aware, this style with the rear bench seat continued until 1990/91 then returned in 1999 with individual rear seats.

Yes that is one of Phil Cripp's cars he also has a blue +8 and is in SwnMog.

I can't find any reference to a 4/4 4 seater made later then 2003 so I think although I can't be sure, there was a 4 seater hiatus between 2004 and 2005 when they announced the newer shape Roadster and Plus 4 engined 4 seaters

I found reference to bench seat 4 seaters with a Plus 4 engines being registered new up to 1996

Geneva 2006 had the 4 Seater Roadster with those huge wires which didn't make it into production. That was the re-introduction of the 4 seater. The Plus 4 followed, but I suspect that 4/4 4 seaters were not built? This model doesn't show in the 2015 price list.

Before this it would make sense that the 4 seaters were built until 1996, which was just before the 1997 long door/stainless bulkhead/superform wings upgrade. I suspect that this was when the factory concentrated on redesigning the two seater body. So if the separate rear seats emerged in 1999, then the interior was redesigned before the exterior, and so it then looks like this model was only produced 1999 to 2003, maybe 4/4 and Plus4?

Remember that in 2000 the factory would be working on the Aero 8, and in 2003 they were working on the Roadster. The 4 seater would have been behind these on the list of priorities.
This is exactly the problem with trying to establish what actually happened!

There was a 4/4 4 seater from the 1990s at Blenheim last weekend in the blue/silver Roadstrr Lightweight livery...
