wish I could find out the history of the car and what type it was, so forth. I do wonder if it still exists somewhere.

Might be worth querying the MTWC?

Peter - an early 3W.

Thats a great idea Graham, I just became a member of the MTWC a couple of months ago. Also, as for now, I plan to frame it in a shadowbox. Not sure how I will go about affixing it to the backing though as I dont want to damage it in any way. It is in incredible shape for its age.

R443 is in better nick than D1137, it came out of my father's 1933 Matchless but I have no proof that it was original to that 3W. The Factory chassis records might give more of an idea but they charge £75 and though I am interested I'm not that interested smile

To mount in a frame I would use a couple of small round head wood screws, pilot drill the holes first and don't over tighten.

As you are a member, the registrar will look it up for you. The MWTC has copies of all the factory records and can often do better than the factory since they also keep records of cars belonging to members.

My car, as quite a few others has a replica badge, but these are only sold to members who can prove they own the car, generally a V5 but there are other ways.
