Who knows?! Different strokes for different folks.
I should explain that I'm quite a big fan of French cars from the '20s and '30s so don't really understand making a '50s Bentley look like a car from another time/country. '50s Bentleys had a wonderful style, I find it equally baffling that people make them into pre-war Le Mans reps etc. but then variety is the spice of life!
I agree it looks awkward from some angles. As for pre war Birkin reps - it is probably the kindest thing to do with a musty saloon that has little appeal and would cost the same to restore to original as it takes to make a Le Mans look- alike
