Hello, this thread is bit older but maybe my input is also welcome. For my trip in June I used an older Rimowa (used from ebay) with a bespoken cover. The cloth is "Daimler Benz Sonnenland" quality. It was made by a retired upholsterer (175€). We had some bigger rain showers and it was complete dry inside. The straps were made by a saddler nearby in horse-gear leather (80€). Today I would order longer straps but the quality is very fine. The cable that secures the suitcase is intended for bikes (1,8m long) but quite cheap (approx 10€). The lock is a waterproofed quality (15€).
