I won't even begin to talk about Italy. Why do you think manufacturing is closing down or moving to other countries as fast as it can?
Tell me about it. My sister (who works for a large US manufacturer of aircraft parts) this summer organised an unpaid work placement for my elder daughter at their Turin factory. The HR people over there put up so many hurdles that even the direct intervention of the VP in charge of France and Italy was unable to shift the blockage. In the end we just gave up & my daughter went and did her yachtmaster certificate instead. Useful and fun, but not so good for her Italian.
