Car tax in DK never ceases to amaze me. Can you imagine 180%? As an example, the base price of the new Golf is €28k over there... which is probably a stripped out car with no radio and no options, to keep the taxable value down... They have to get the revenue to fund their welfare state from somewhere though. DK consistently comes out as one of the best places to be born. You would have to be a serious car enthusiast to drive a M3W over there (do we have any?).
Don't get me started on the CO2 discussion... I think Neilda and I have the same opinion. The only benefit I can see is that CO2 and fuel economy are directly related, so any policy which pushes for lower CO2 is hopefully reducing overall fuel consumption (plus pushing car makers to advance their technology) and therefore making our reserves last longer
