Careful. It's a case where the law has not caught up with the practicalities and LEDs could well be construed as breaking construction and use regulations - even if the light output is faster and brighter. Even true of new cars - but European Type approval trumps construction and use.

Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs I'll cough to having LED brake lights on the trike, but since brake lights were not fitted when it was built, if anyone objects - the response is I'll remove them to be legal. That having been said, most police are not clued up on the finer points of construction and use - if the vehicle is not dangerous and not causing problems to others they generally leave well alone.
