We had a holiday in Northern Spain in 2011 (fabulous Morgan driving roads) and within 30 minutes of arriving at Santander, saw and Ivory +4 with Spanish plates going in the opposite direction.
That was it though in 10 days in the Asturias. Mind you, other than when we were at the port, we only saw 2 British registered cars!
If you don't mind the ferry across Biscay, I can thoroughly reommend taking your Mog to Northern Spain.
