Easter, excuse my ignorance - are they the same brake calipers on the '4/4 Sport' and the 'Roadster' then? If so why the difference in "initial bite"? Thanks PJB
Roadster is a heavier car 938kg v 4/4 Sport 795kg
Same calipers on my Roadster and 4/4, and as far as I can remember same master cylinder. Roadster alloys with 205 tyres were lighter weight wise than black wires with 165 tyres on the Sport but I'm not clued up enough to guess whether rotating mass effects braking performance, ie a Roadster with wires might be at further disadvantage than just the extra kerb weight alone. All that aside the first thing I'd look for would be grease contmination from the king pins and if that is the case you are going to need new pads anyway. Driving syle could be another factor, I like to brake late and hard and even in the wet I like to brake right up the threshold of grip
