I think it is something Aero owners have to live with.
As the handbrake is so poor and gets little use, apparently pumping the h/brake handle will also adjust the cam on the caliper if there is enough wear on the shoe to warrant movement. I can only think this will also stretch the cables further so to live with it (and carry a brick) seems the easier option
