Look, I'm sorry to say this, but it is looking very much like the old guard are trying to defend the indefensible. Yes, we may all be pretty new to the TM family, and we are grateful to Simon for allowing us all a voice, because otherwise there would be nowhere to air our genuine views. However, there is a real problem with the Three Wheeler, a car that we have all paid a lot of money for, and the least we can expect, especially from a small company that deigns to care about its' customers, is that they will actually do the right thing by us, and that just isn't happening.
Well, when I say it isn't happening, it is, but only a few chosen people in the know, know it is happening, the rest of us poor saps who paid good money for the product do not know ............ anything.
Surely you can see this? It is no good for those chosen few, who, frankly we do not know, nor do we know their relationship with the factory, except that it appears to be quite close, to come here and start talking down what is being said, defending the factory. It is almost as if they have a fiscal stake in it?
Come on, you all know perfectly well that there is a problem, but because of your close affiliations you choose not to see, or maybe admit them. Talk about the kings' new clothes!
Shame on you all.
If you are men at all, you will use your influence with the Morgan Motor Co. [whoever they may be] to sort out this problem and to let us, the paying customers know that we will not have to suffer the problems besetting us for much longer.
As for Kevin Rivette, I don't know him from Adam, but he sounds like my kind of guy. He has obviously spent a lot of his own money, and is prepared to help the rest of us sort out the problem in our own way for no monetary gain to himself, despite the very strong innuendos that there is a gain to him.
This is not a site that has young lads who don't know what they are talking about, go to Pisonheads for that, but people here are older, wiser, and generally more accountable, take note of what they say, because they are serious. Good grief, some people are so up their own backsides sometimes it worries me! And, if the cap fits, then it must be you?
OK, a little strong, but I will not withdraw it, because it is what I feel right now.
There is so much I would like to say about this post; however, I simply cannot be bothered. Paul, I would be surprised if you believe what you have written, considering the time you have spent on TM and the conversations you have witnessed. However, you are welcome to voice your opinion. As for defending the Talk Morgan team, including myself, I'm sure we're all happy to be judge by our actions and past track record.
As was stated at the early stages, Kevin provided half the story and there is certainly (and obviously) another side to it; only he and MMC combined would be able to relay it and, even then, personal opinion (on both sides) would cloud the events.
What I would be interested to understand is the following:-
1) If the M3W is so 'problematic' why did you purchase a second? You have mentioned financial incentive in the past; however, if you believe the car to have an inherent "problem", would it not have made more sense to sell the first one and buy something you were happy with?
2) To the people who bought M3W and now complain about the so-called "bump steer", why would you buy something you were unhappy with? In my experience, you either get won over by a test drive (or multiple if you have doubts) or you don't - if you don't, you do not purchase the product.
In my personal opinion, this is becoming a witch-hunt with far too much venom being vented. No one forced you to buy the vehicle and if you are unhappy with it, there are appropriate actions. Paul, you mention that this is not Pistonheads, and you are correct; however, you said "people here are older, wiser, and generally more accountable." What about being 'accountable' for buying a vehicle that you already knew had a characteristic you knew you didn't like? What about being 'wise' enough to know that posting items such as Kevin has done, and others (including yourself), is not the way a 'wise' person addresses their genuine concerns? In fact, in doing so, I believe it shows lack of desire to actually resolve a situation but more about some false sense of retribution.
I find the entire affair quite saddening and a complete and utter waste of time. The only 'fiscal stake' any of us have in MMC is that we 'invest' in the company by buying their products (like EVERY other customer). I do, personally (Brian, Andy and John are capable of speaking for themselves), happen to like and respect very many people who work at the factory and I have, and will continue, to defend their work ethic, passion and skill for what they do. It is very easy to criticise people you do not know but more challenging once you actually see the drive, determination and true desire to produce the best product they possibly can. I am also lucky to call a few of them friends and this came about primarily because of the Nordkapp Challenge - something I am very proud of being a part of. As before, many on this site will know that I have championed their cause with MMC when I did believe they were being treated unfairly by any element of the Morgan network; therefore, I do not agree with your belief that I am incapable of seeing both sides and being fair. I don't shout about it from the roof tops, nor does it get mentioned on this site, because I do not do it for praise or recognition; however, at times like these, it does grate when I am accused on anything less than having the best interests of owners and enthusiasts at heart.
