Roger Its strange that my Ink Black Roadster does have a clear coat finish....I have no idea why!
The Manufacturers use this method for 2 reasons J
1 To give a better glass sheen finish
2 Clear over base has a much higher UV protection than Solid colour finish therefore longer lasting Paint finish and almost nil dulling (fade of colour).
it is of coarse more expensive for the Manufacturer to apply the Clear over base method as more man hours are required, more curing time and more materials.
