This is all very reassuring. My computer has blown up and I need a replacement. Really love my iPhone and IPad so strongly thinking of a new Mac. This thread clinches it I think.

AAARGH!!!

jnr is becoming another fashion victim and wants a Mac. I refuse to have anything to do with them. Apple's whole policy of total control of your life (and your IT systems) I really do not like. I will play around with, and enjoy doing so, Windows and Linux (and Android) but the Mac OS leaves me in continual frustration. I have told her that if she gets one she is on her own as far as in house support is concerned. I am a slightly out of date IT professional and manage most things but... not Mac.
Once you go Mac you never go back!
I suppose after spending all that cash and discovering you could have had 2 equivalent computers for the same money you either a)can't afford to go back, or b) are too embarrassed to admit you have been sucked in!
