I'm not suggesting this is the ideal solution, but it worked and the paint seems flexible enough..no damage to either the point of impact or the bulged area.
I suspect the bigger risk is that the glue used to hold the "bead" to the wing edge might crack.
I think I'll get one of these....
Parking Sensors Just £40.00 and the display is wireless. So it can sit on the transmission tunnel in-front of where the radio would go if I had one.
Or this....
Cheap Version Just £26.00. Sensors would sit wasily each side of the reversing light/fog light.
