In the case of a salvaged car it is my belief that you would be best to make a rebuild decision based on facts rather than emotional attachment. There are a few p&js that have been put back on the road after cataclysmic damage and are a shadow of their former selves. It is, without a shadow of doubt, a head v head decision in many cases. Once I hope none of us have to decide upon for ourselves.
