Interesting question. I hadn't seen any on a later 4 wheeled car until I bought my 1986 Plus 8. It has one. I folded it down once and the stuck on black plastic rear view mirror stuck up in the air and looked absolutely dreadful, and a little comical, so I quickly put the windscreen back up. (I soon changed to a smaller mirror, the kind on the metal rod that goes from top to bottom of the screen.) I don't have the brooklands screens though.
