Never use "normal" superglue or I am told this will crack the glass.
I can confirm this!
Many years ago the windscreen of my car got a crack from one side to the other due to the use of superglue for mounting the mirror
The coefficient of expansion for glass and metal is slightly different. The "glue" has to be able compensate this if there are variations of temperature!
