My handbook (Plus 4) tells me that if it is not the handbrake then the fluid in the brake master cylinder is below the safe operating level, and if the light comes on while driving you must "stop the car immediately in a safe and responsible (!) manner".
Hmm so continuing to drive rapidly to Goodwood was perhaps not wise
