ESP can only work with ABS. The only MMC cars with ABS are the Aeros, and they don't, as far as I know, have ESP.

It is strange: all the web hits for this development seem to be variations on a press release issued by Bosche, makers of the ESP systems. I can find no "Offical" statement from the EU or VOSA.

It is very probable that this actually applies only to new models type approved after today. But it would be good to know more.

MMC live on ancient EU type apprvals, so unless and until they introduce a totally new model they can continue. Type approvals don't "expire" as long as the vehicle has the same chassis, steering/suspension and vasic body structure.
