I made a similar decision and am happy with the outcome but do not underestimate the differences between Morgan's of different years, I have moved from a 1981 to a 2004 and now a 2014 but if asked which had the most character it would be the 1981 car which I still miss and if I could afford it would have as well as my current car. Objectively it was slower, less comfortable, not as reliable, and needed more work to keep it going but it was brilliant fun. By all means upgrade to a newer model, as I have, but be sure that it suits your needs/wants and don't think that newer is neccasarily better.
