Remember the old safety phrase
"See and be seen"
Using lights helps the latter whether it's using side/ dipped lights.
LED are brighter so help there.
As for other vehicles.....
I feel too many drivers are a bit too aggressive in that they expect priority in situations when they clearly don 't have it.
I have noticed more and more coming into my side of the road to pass parked vehicles, and clearly over the white lines. I have had to take avoiding action mNy times. These drivers clearly see you but push through anyway.

There is far les courtesy these days and more of " get out of my way".
