About this time last year I was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a congenital eye condition which causes blindness in many. Luckily the condition had only affected my peripheral vision but the doctor was uncertain if it would continue to deteriorate. Obviously if it did at some point I would be unable to meet the medical requirements of the driving licence (130 degrees I think). So I was very apprehensive going to the hospital this morning.
I'm very relieved that there has been no further deterioration and I only need to have things monitored again next year. So to celebrate as soon as the eye drops wear off I'm out for a blast in the Morgan with
and we plan a meal of dressed crab new potatoes and salad washed down by Malvern's finest. No not that one but a bottle of Promenades from Elgar wines I picked up at the last Thrill On The Hill.
Seems I'm mobile for at least another twelve months!
