I managed to give our last Sat Nav an occasional stutter by trying to re-set the language to 'Australian' rather than English, as I thought it would sound a lot 'sexier' as a Sheila. Still came out in perfect Oxford / BBC but with added speech impediment. Ho hum.
Our new Navman S300 has the ability to 'call out' almost every road name due to some fancy new technology, and this time I managed to find and load the ‘Aussie’ software.
Driving through France today we were almost in tears – it was funny enough having the road names pronounced as if written in English ( a lot of streets called Rudy), but the ‘strine twang added to the surreal experience.
My only complain is that the directions don’t all come out as questions – “In 100 yards? At the roundabout? Take the first exit?
As I said, little things please little minds.
