The J.A.P. name is owned by the Card brothers. Dave Card builds the engines, but they also licence the build to Cameron Racing Engines, and my understanding is that Cameron pays the Card brothers a licence fee each they, Cameron produce one.
Les Card told me the above, and maybe Les has licensed Krazy Horse to use the J.A.P. name. Dave and Les' father owned the full rights to J.A.P. and he died a few years ago. Les Card bought out a three wheeler company called the Ellipse and produced a few. I drove one at Blyton Park with a "dog eared" J.A.P. engine bolted to a Ford Type 9 gearbox...it drove very well and sounded superb. These engines are between £10-£12K each whilst the S&S is around £7K from memory.
merlin123, is the foreground 3 wheeler the one you're referring to? Without seeing the back end it's hard to tell if it's an Ellipse or not. The other is a Triking of course. Ellipse and J.A.P. also seem to have an association with the "Planet" company.
