Don't use the A1 north of Newcastle. Take the A696/A68 to Ponteland, Jedburgh and Edinburgh. The A1 is mainly single carriageway and carries more traffic.
There are several speed cameras on the A68 north of the border and two ( I think) on the A696/A68 on the south side.
You could call at
Aero Leathers at Galashiels and get a Horsehide Jacket.
You know it makes sense!
