Last autumn I reported on this forum, that a plastic radiator part had cracked on my Roadster (2009). I decided to go for an aluminium radiator from Mulfab. The replacement, triggers one to look at the temperature gauge more often. It struck me how low it actually reads; normally it reads well below 80 C, more like 75 C.
I decided I wanted to know more and after a drive I stuck a thermocouple between the coils of the radiator and measured 90 C. After idling for a few minutes, the fan switched on at 95 C.
The measured temperatures look normal too me. Can anyone on the form confirm the temp values I measured?
My conlusion is that temp gauge just reads about 15 C too low. Has anyone seen this before and can this be easily corrected?
