Years ago I learned that slight understeer that can be corrected with power on exit is the fastest way through the corners in a Morgan, sideways is spectacular , yes , but it loses time.
Same is true for most cars on tarmac - the sideways mode only really works on gravel as you effectively gain a extra clutch.
