Over the past 8 months I've had two occasions when a flat tyre resulted after about an hours high speed run on motorways and dual carriageways.
A front tyre on separate occasions deflated slowly and the fault was the join of the inflator to the tube.
The tyre fitter I used to replace the tubes suggested to cause was likely to be under inflation causing the tyre flexing to rub the join on the wheel rim. Adding that "modern" cars run at higher tyre pressures: erm yes I know!
Tyres are Toyo 165/80 TR15, new February this year could these and the fact that my inner tubes could have 8 years old, be a factor? (I did not think to have the inner tubes renewed at the same time as the tyres); this has now been done.
I run at 22psi checked before both journeys in my 1992.4/4. 1.6cc.with suplex.
Am I running to low a pressure? Any suggestions
