After 4,000 miles the rear driver's side suspension (or at least I assume this is the cause) sounds like the bed springs in a 1960's house of ill repute (not that I ever went in one you understand!). Any ideas how I can stop the squeal? Going over bumps or pushing down on the rear arch creates a heck of a racket.
Motorcycle dealer or spares shop, aerosol can of chain lube, get the one for O ring chains and it will not hurt the rubber of your shackle buses. Remove rear parcel shelf and spare wheel and spray as much as you can through both apertures. The beauty of chain lube is it 'creaps' so will work its way between the leaves but if you look you will see rust on the band clamps and that's often where most of the noise is. By working down through the parcel shelf and spare wheel hole you will get 90% of the spring and all of the squeak with any luck. They need doing a coupe of times a year!
