Looks like you caught a bullet there Richard.
All the more reason for getting down and checking front suspension and both front and rear brakes every few months. Nothing beats keeping an eye on things ,( or getting someone like Colin (Spanner Juggler) or indeed your local dealer, to do it for you if you don't feel confident.)
Not suggesting you should take it to Dave W' s level where every job turns into a product improvement project ;-) , but regular attention is definitely the best policy.
Yes I wouldn't have minded quite so much if I hadn't replaced rear wheel cylinders and shoes less than six months ago and everything seemed ok. I do my own repairs and servicing I know it's done thoroughly then and to my standards - it's my life at stake so I have to care more
I'm not a modifier I like them as they are out of the box purist neandertal I hear the call...
As a codicil I can't wait to get stuck into my Aero screen mounting bar and removal of the windscreen project.
