Thanks again everyone. I can confirm that the rack housing is'nt moving. But just to make life more difficult, there's no movement now :-( I can only assume that, if the rack is spring loaded against the pinion, that the rack turned, perhaps as a result of a raod bump, & the spring stuck. I would be interested to see the guts of the rack & pinion.
