As nippymog says, the Three Wheeler one is just cosmetic...it is not fitted to the main body. As such, I doubt it moves about on the bonnet so unlikely to scratch the paint.
I was finding grit was getting into the underside of the belt , so very minor scratching was occurring despite occasional cleaning. Protection film under the buckles has sorted it though.
