I find this rather odd, as all the newer Morgans as I understand it are fitted with engines, ECU etc supplied by 3rd party manufacturers (BMW and Ford) so as these units are supposedly locked down then do not the Emission figures submitted by the 3rd parties for these engines apply with the authorities. Obviously if a limited run and a tuned variant then Emissions would need to be specified by MMC. Or am I misunderstanding something here?
As far as I can see MMC are indeed using the CO2 figures taken from the parent car. The 4.8l N63 engine has a rating of 282g/km when in 360bhp form in the 6-series E63, and that's what MMC quote.
If MMC were to go to all the trouble of producing their own emissions figures, it would come down by a bit I'm sure but there would be no real benefit for MMC and a lot of cost I presume.
