We have a rule in our house, my birthday is the 20th November and Christmas starts the day after. We are big on Christmas. Last Saturday and most of Sunday was spend decorating the house. We have a lot of new stuff this year and more coming via eBay.
Our youngest is 17 and shows a passing interest but we'll keep doing it as long as we can climb ladders. It's just what we do.......
