Being late of the Clothing Ind. myself and a reasonable hand at the sewing machine, I had an idea at the week end to try creating gaiters but did not have any suitable fabric yet (At the time I was making a black lightweight waterproof nylon cover for our suitcase in advance of trip to Beaulieu).
Do you do them for the top springs as well?
I should have realised; if it was there to be invented, you would have already done it.
