Never to the overnight Newhaven-Dieppe ferry - you dock at 4am - and can be on the road around 0420.

We never do proper stops when crossing France - "empty the bladder, fill the fuel tank" ones only. We were back in Zurich in 8hrs from Dieppe last week. The toughest part is the sprint to Reims while it is still dark.
