getting out and under is always good, had an odd few engines in my garage to strip down and tinker with just for fun, bike engines are unbelievable bits of engineering!!!
Too many years ago to remember, I spent a wonderful school holiday in the 50's at a breakers yard dismantling engines to separate the Aluminum and the Brass, head to toe in muck and oil; luvly'
That did help a bit in later years but I still managed to put a kink in the con rod of my first bike (BSA Bantam) replacing the small end bush with a Hammer and large bolt. After I had bent it upright again without snapping it and tapped home the new bush with same hammer and wood, someone, who knew about these things introduced me to having the right tools and a lot more experience.
