they have some video of that one pacing its cage in the Hobart zoo back in the 30's, one of the sadest bits of video I have seen.
The poor thing died in 1936 due to beurocracy and sexism, it is said that the keeper was a woman and she tried get into the zoo that day to let it into its indoor space as there had been a cold snap, but was not allowed in because she was a lone woman, it died of exposure.
This occurred 2 months after the government finally declared them a protected species. Too little, too late, as usual, there has never been another confirmed sighting of one. Nothing changes ehh, today's governments are just as bad.
