I had something of the same problem with bumpy South Wales farm tracks.
I fitted AVOs all round on my 2000 4/4 and they really do make a difference.

I know of several people who have gone for the front upgrade via roller Bs and panhard rod and, having driven a couple of cars with this, there is no doubt that the lateral location does seem better

However,in my own case, I kept the 'blades' set up because I wasn't overly bothered about the heavy steering at low road speed and I like the the damping chcarcteristics the blades give at higher speeds. I also fitted brake reaction bars which seem to have worked out well- just a personal thing
