Appreciate your posting about impending purchase and good luck finding the right car.

I agree with Andrew that the five nut wheels are perhaps better, though I have central locking nut on mine and prefer the lock of these. They are though more time consuming to fit since they have to be torqued up properly, then undone slightly before retorting again, and ideally doing the same again. All with the car up in the car and the wheels blocked, which considering they need to be torqued to around 45kg/m is quite a faff!

I have the pram hood on mine and though it is lees attractive down it does have the advantage of being easier to erect.

Totally agree about buying on condition and history/bills etc

I hope you find the right car and if there's any aspect I can help you on don't hesitate to send me a pm. I wouldn't say I know all there is to know about these cars, but having had mine for 8 years and 40,000km and done my own maintenance and repairs I have got to know it quite well.
