With a bit of lick i'll be around for the 100th aniversary.
The Supermarine Spitfire is both aesthetically and aerodynamically a delight: I know two pilots and they both say that flying it is simply wonderful: a Spitfire is responsive, but never unpredictable and especially when approaching the stall the old lady grumbles and shakes a bit before finally stalling. Other aircraft, like the Mustang, have a vicious stall and they demands great care.
An example of the old saying, "if it looks good it probably is good"
