I opened my original post by saying I love the attention we get and enjoy returning the waves. I get your point about returning a wave when I've already driven by, something I do repeatedly. You suggest this was the only point you meant.
What I didn't get was why you suggest this makes me a misery. The car puts a bigger smile on my face than almost everything else other than my wife and kids. This is why I didn't get what wavelength you were on.
I know you meant nothing by it.Perhaps my frustration at not making my thoughts clear enough came to the fore.
Let me say it again, I love the attention we get and I will wave as much and as often as it's safe to do so. But I will still feel a tinge of guilt if I miss someone waving. I want them to know I appreciated their enthusiasm as much as I enjoy driving the car.
