Another alternative would be to use one or two of those dinky little Lion jump start battery packs as reserve for your main battery. Plug it into an unswitched fag lighter socket and it'll provide a useful extra reserve for your main battery. Get a couple and you can bring one back to the house every couple of days to recharge it whilst the other sits in the car.

It would be completely out of order to suggest getting a friendly electrician to insert a discreet little T piece into the wiring conduit and install a covert charging point next to your bay in the garage, of course ;-)


As it turns out, the ARP4 started no problem after 3 weeks of inactivity smile

I might go for a gel battery of the same size with a greater capacity.

Charging point would be obvious; it's flat concrete everywhere.
