For me & my S1, space has never been an issue, OK, I’m not the tallest of people (5ft 8”), but I’m also not the slimmest!!
I never had any comfort/space issues in the cabin, my S1 has the later door cards which for me offered a convenient place to rest my elbow, not sure if MMC made the change for ascetic’s or comfort/space?
For me the only big issue was that one place to put your phone & wallet ect, this was easily overcome with the addition of a tray by the gear shift, but you always have the shelf behind the seats.
You would be surprised with some cleaver packing, just how much you can get in them for a long weekend, Le Mans last year two up, large tent, sleeping bags ect, no issues.
Leeds/London is a bit far from me I’m afraid.
Go for it, believe me you wouldn’t regret it!!
